Innsbruck (Tirol) rock
Moon Woman is a versatile, four-headed formation from Innsbruck, Austria, that shines with an atmospheric merging of blues, psychedelic and heavy rock. Besides thick riffs and heavy drums, the base of their sound stays groovy, dynamic and airy. Digging deep in their foundation, influences like The Doors, Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac and more contemporary artists like All Them Witches come to light. Within one month after their formation as a three-piece in 2019, Daniel Rieser (Bass/Vocals), Florian Ortner (Guitar) and Rene Nussbaumer (Drums) played first live shows with the internationally acclaimed jam trio Electric Octopus and the german Spacerock-band Kosmodrom. Still flying high after those first shows, the three musicians recorded their debut-LP “Open Gates” within two weeks in their rehearsal room and self-released it in December 2020. In order to extend their sound further, Markus Fanninger joined on keys soon after the release. In 2021 and 2022 multiple gigs in Germany and Austria with bands like Mother`s Cake, Elder and Mars Red Sky followed. They also appeared at Lake on Fire Festival 2022. In May 2022, the band recorded their second LP in an old abandoned theatre in Frisanco,Italy at Mushroom Studios which is planned to be released in early 2023. With a dynamic jam character and the changing interpretations of their own songs, each Moon Woman show develops a unique atmosphere that pulls the audience under its spell. The connection of the four musicians that unfolds during their live sets can not only be heard but also felt.
