Queen Atara, born Ashley Barron on December 8, 1995, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a dynamic singer-songwriter known for her fusion of Afrobeat, reggae, hip hop, R&B, soul, dancehall, and jazz. Raised in Kingston and Spanish Town, she began her professional songwriting career in 2020 with the hip hop track “Queen.” Her 2021 single “Reggae” garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube and 100,000 streams on Spotify, gaining popularity in countries like Ghana, Kenya, Jamaica, the USA, and South Africa .

Now based in Hall in Tirol, Austria, Queen Atara continues to expand her musical reach. In 2024, she released her debut album “Calling,” a spiritual project reflecting her Taino and Maroon heritage . She has collaborated with artists and producers from Jamaica and across Africa, including Nature Ellis, Don Eldee, Berry Vodca, Tynallen, LENN¥, Lofty Fullpage, Yomade Soundz, Guddy the G, Sweesh Donche, Papaa Masai, and producer Amir Shakur of Soul America International Records .
