Lavis (Trentino) hiphop & rap


Gabriele Casagrande, in arte Big House, nasce artisticamente in tenera età, frequentando corsi di musica d’insieme e parallelamente suonando la chitarra classica. Successivamente studia chitarra elettrica e batteria, suonando in diversi gruppi cover locali. Nel 2010 circa inizia ad appassionarsi al genere musicale hip hop, scrivendo i primi testi in rima e sviluppando metrica e flow. Attorno al 2012, per necessità musicale, inizia a comporre le prime strumentali da autodidatta. Nel 2013, diventa parte del collettivo Birrette Family e apre l’home studio BHL Records, situato vicino a Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige, dove registra i primi demo del gruppo e svariati progetti musicali. Contemporaneamente all’attività dello studio, avvia la dedizione all’arte del DJing e della selezione musicale durante le serate musicali, passione che ancora lo accompagna. Nel 2014 si muove a Milano per iniziare gli studi di Audio Engineering & Music Technology presso l’Accademia del Suono. Nel 2017 si trasferisce a Manchester per finire gli studi e si laurea alla Futureworks University (UCLan) con il titolo di Bachelor of Science with Honours in Audio Engineering and Production. Il suono musicale di Big House si contraddistingue per l’uso di sintetizzatori e campionatori, mischiati all’uso di batterie acustiche & breakbeats, fondendo il periodo boom-bap con la nuova scuola dei suoni. Il produttore si mostra aperto a nuovi esperimenti musicali, derivati dallo studio e dalla ricerca di un suono personale.
