Burning the Ocean ist eine junge Metalband aus Südtirol (Italien) mit Einflüssen aus Hardcore, Metalcore aber auch melodischem Deathmetal. Die Formation entstand im Sommer 2009 und besteht bis heute in ihrer ursprünglichen Besetzung aus Mirco Todesco (Vocals), Dominik Mayr (Guitar), Hannes Kofler (Guitar), Josef Tetter (Bass) und Michael von Troyer (Drums) im Alter zwischen 18 und 20 Jahren. 2011 erreichten sie bei den regionalen Ausscheidungen zum „International Liveaward“ den dritten Platz. Unter anderem spielte die Band bei verschiedenen Konzerten mit den Bands: Gallows(UK), Memphis May Fire (US), Evergreen Terrace (US),Mainline(IT), Kontrust(AT), Before the Murder(SL), Rarefaction(DE), Punchline(AT), Inarcadia(AT), Dufresne(IT), Amia Venera Landscape(IT) . Lokale Bekanntheit erlangte Burning the Ocean vor allem durch ihre energiegeladenen Liveauftritte und überzeugende Performance. 2011 ging es zum ersten Mal ins Studio, wo eine Demo aufgenommen wurde, mit deren Qualität man aber nicht zufrieden war. Aus diesem Grund wurde der Wunsch nach einer Aufnahme zunächst zu Gunsten zahlreicher Live-Konzerte auf Eis gelegt. Im Oktober 2012 veröffentlicht die Band ihre erste EP „Overcome“ die sie in einem Tonstudio in Österreich (GraveYard Studio) aufgenommen haben.
