Gli [eravamo] Sunday Drivers – inizialmente solo Sunday Drivers – nascono nel mese di maggio del 2008 a Trento. La formazione iniziale è composta da Federico Bortoli, voce e tromba; Alessandro Vaccari, chitarra e seconda voce; Andrea La Ganga, basso; Fabrizio Lettieri, batteria. Dopo un inizio in stile punk rock con influenze di gruppi come Rancid e NOFX, i quattro decidono di orientare la propria musica verso i ritmi in levare dello ska, iniziando a scrivere pezzi propri. Nei due anni successivi la band partecipa a numerosi concerti, fra cui il Martignano All Ska del 2010 – dove ha il piacere di suonare insieme a Chupones e Redska – e una data al PalaLevico nel 2011 dove si esibiscono prima de I Ministri. A cavallo fra il 2011 e il 2012 si uniscono al gruppo due nuovi componenti: il trombonista Giacomo Coser e il trombettista Federico Reich. In pochi mesi viene rinnovata gran parte del repertorio e a giugno 2012 i Sunday Drivers si esibiscono al PalaTrento subito prima dei 99 Posse in occasione della finale del concorso “Upload”. A settembre dello stesso anno la band si esibisce al Sot Ala Zopa, evento al quale partecipano anche Teatro Degli Orrori, Marta Sui Tubi, Anansi e Rebel Rootz. Pochi giorni dopo la band suona al MEI di Faenza, utilizzando per la prima volta il nome [eravamo] Sunday Drivers (volendo così evidenziare i numerosi cambiamenti stilistici e di organico intercorsi lungo la storia del gruppo). Dopo un 2012 ricco di concerti (più di 40), il 2013 si apre con la produzione del video di Skaramanzia, a cui ha fatto subito seguito la registrazione del primo album degli [eravamo] Sunday Drivers “Buongiorno Mondo” – registrato presso lo studio Discograficamente di Luca Valentini – che esce ufficialmente nel mese di giugno. Da giugno 2013 a settembre 2014 gli [eravamo] Sunday Drivers si esibiscono su oltre 50 palchi, con la possibilità si aprire la serata a gruppi quali No Braino e Rootical Foundation.
