(Trento) rock


Gli Hot Funky Style nascono ufficialmente il 1° gennaio 2008, quando il chitarrista Pietro Oss entra a far parte della band. La formazione è composta da Marco Maffei alla voce, Pietro Oss alla chitarra, Luca Bretta al basso e Matteo Madaschi alla batteria. Il giovane gruppo di Madonna di Campiglio (TN), classe 1991-92, mostra fin da subito un particolare interesse verso la realizzazione di pezzi originali, che vanno ad arricchire un repertorio caratterizzato essenzialmente da cover dei Red Hot Chili Peppers. Lo stile musicale del quartetto californiaoa influenza moltissimo il sound degli HFS, che propongono un rock melodico mescolato a funkeggianti giri di basso e di chitarra. La stessa band, tuttavia, si contraddistingue anche per una particolare tendenza verso le melodie pop, emergenti in molteplici loro canzoni. La voglia di farsi notare nel circuito musicale trentino, porta gli Hot Funky Style ad incidere il loro primo demo, contenente 4 brani, nel gennaio 2009. Dopo un lungo anno passato a suonare in giro per i locali della provincia, il 2010 si presenta alla band come un anno di discreti successi: i ragazzi partecipano a numerosi concorsi (tra cui Rock Targato Italia e Italia Wave Band) guadagnandosi il premio della critica come migliori pezzi inediti nella seconda edizione di Summer Rock Rotta 360. Inoltre, partecipano alla trasmissione “Live” organizzata da Trentino TV e aprono una data del tour dei Bastard Sons Of Dioniso. Nel settembre dello stesso anno gli HFS iniziano le registrazioni del loro primo album autoprodotto, “Beautiful Damage”, caratterizzato da 11 brani originali che permettono alla band di esprimere la propria essenza e giovane energia. Lo scorso luglio il gruppo ha registrato sulla riviera emiliana il video del primo pezzo del disco, In my dreams, diretto da Moreno Salvigni, in rotazione su diverse televisioni regionali.
