I Joy Holler vedono le prime luci nel settembre 2015 a partire da un’idea di Simone, che, con Lorenzo, decide di dare vita ad un nuovo progetto ispirato alla black music. La storia della band è fatta di coincidenze: tutto ha inizio con il casuale incontro fra Lorenzo e Marco durante un viaggio, che li vedeva seduti fianco a fianco senza nemmeno conoscersi. Nel raccontare dell’idea di un nuovo progetto, Lorenzo scopre che sia Marco che suo fratello Andrea sono alla ricerca di nuovi stimoli musicali in cui tuffarsi. Simone, Lorenzo, Marco e Andrea si incontrano nel settembre 2015 per discutere del progetto e già nello stesso mese entrano in sala prove per dare vita ai Joy Holler. Nel febbraio 2016 esordiscono suonando in alcuni locali di Trento e della provincia. In maggio partecipano a Over The Hill (festa studentesca di Mesiano, Trento) e al Festival dell'Informazione Indipendente di Arco (TN). In giugno vincono il contest "Ricordando Angela, Erica e Matteo" nella categoria senior cover e nello stesso mese vincono il primo premio del contest "Centro Musica Awards", ottenendo così l'accesso ad Area Sanremo e la possibilità di aprire uno dei concerti della rassegna musicale 2016/17 del teatro Santa Chiara di Trento. In agosto 2016 entrano in studio per registrare il loro primo EP, intitolato "Brighter Love", uscito il 19 novembre. In ottobre partecipano ai corsi di formazione di Area Sanremo 2016, tenuti da professionisti della realtà discografica italiana, confrontandosi con artisti provenienti da tutta Italia. Joy Holler are a band formed in September 2015 in Trento, Italy by Simone, Lorenzo, Andrea and Marco, who created this project taking inspiration from the greatest historic black music exponents. All started with a coincidence: Lorenzo and Marco met for the first time during a travel and found out they were basically looking for the same thing: a serious musical project where to invest energy and resources. Simone was already friend with Lorenzo, Andrea and Marco are brothers. The four of them met in September 2015 to share their opinions and in the same month they met up for Joy Holler’s first rehearsal. In February 2016 they played their first concerts in Trentino’s bars and pubs. In May they took part in “Over The Hill” (Mesiano, Trento University event) and in “Festival dell’Informazione Indipendente” in Arco (TN). In June they won the contest “Ricordando Angela, Erica e Matteo” in the “senior cover” category and in the same month won the first prize of the contest “Centro Musica Awards”, which gave them free access to “Area Sanremo” and the chance to open one of the concerts of the 2016/17 Trento “Santa Chiara” theatre’s musical season. In August 2016 Joy Holler recorded their first studio EP “Brighter Love”, out on 19th November. In October they took part in “Area Sanremo” 2016 training courses, held by Italian discography professionals, sharing this experience with nationwide artists.
